Hello. I’m David Hilgier, and I’m quite fond of the power of communication through visual media.
Alongside the lovely Miss Erin, I currently reside in the world-famous Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. To make my hommie papers—more commonly referred to as “a living”—I rearrange pixels, put pen to paper, and set viewfinder to eye with the intent of exceeding the visual needs of my clients. I’ve rolled up my sleeves on everything from large scale web sites to wayfinding systems, and I’m more than comfortable wearing the hat of an art director, designer, production artist or front-end developer.
I’m also a world traveler, most recently having explored the country of Perú. I chronicled this latest adventure on my blog, Beer & Coffee, alongside some other thoughts of mine regarding life, design and libations. My days begin with black coffee and end with that appropriately chilled beverage made from barley, hops, water and yeast. Combining a sincere love of said beverage with dreams of eventually earning money making it, I’ve been brewing my own beer as a home-brewer since the beginning of 2010. Collectively with my partner, family and close beer-loving friends, we are the Tea Cup Brewing Company.

The “Viale”?
The Viale name was crafted by myself and a good friend and colleague while brainstorming URL ideas. Searching for something unique to complement my interests and personality, we settled on the Italian word “viale.” (This use of the Italian language stems from my love and interest of the country, where I was living independently at the time.) Literally translated as “avenue,” it’s an apt title for me—I’m always on the path to somewhere, and constantly re-examining where that might be. My work serves as my route.I can be contacted at: info at theviale dot net. Below are a few samples of my work. Ciao!
